Thatcher anti-union laws still exist. One of their aims is to force union members out of  ' political' life.

'Politics' is not just about parties but its to do with campaigning against cuts and closure of services or lobbying to defend our NHS pensions. By law UNISON needs a political fund to campaign. 


VOTE YES in the coming ballot for a political fund.

CAMPAIGNS

The primary function of any union is to represent mebers in the workplace. However, unions also campaign for a better, fairer society for it's mebers to live in. UNISON, as the largest union in the UK is particulary well placed to campaign on a number of issues.

RCT Branch is proud of it's campaigning activities. As this site develops we will bring you details of the campaigns we have been involved in. Below you will find a list of some of those campaigns. If it is underlined there is a link to an RCT article, if it is not underlined you can find more info on the national site.   • Socialy responsible Investment Of Pension Fund: There is a lot of our money in our pension funds, how it is invested can make a big difference to how companies operate.

    UNISON's campaign to keep public services both public and well-funded.
